Its unique quality arises from the fulling process, which gives the fabric its felt-like texture and functional properties. Additionally, the wool is enriched with fine fibers from other animals such as alpacas and cashmere goats, making loden the epitome of alpine textile tradition and natural elegance.

The sustainable processing of the leather
This exceptionally soft yet durable cowhide leather gets its naturally fashionable colors from the rare and elaborate aniline dyeing process. This type of dyeing is characterized by the fact that the dye penetrates deep into the leather and is not merely applied to the surface. This preserves the leather's surface texture, making each product unique.
The leather used for the toiletry and cosmetic bags from the leather manufactory F. Hammann is tanned in Santa Croce near Florence, Italy, from the finest Alpine hides. The process is carried out without chromium salts and in closed-loop systems, thus significantly exceeding the latest EU environmental standards. The leather is a byproduct of the local industry – no animal is used solely for its hide.
